Today in Tskhinval was signed a cooperation agreement between the Ministries of Culture of South Ossetia and Abkhazia. For the South Ossetian part the document was signed by Minister of Culture of the Republic Makharbeg Kokoev, for the Abkhaz part – by Minister of Culture of Abkhazia Badra Gunba.
As noted by Makharbeg Kokoev at a briefing after the signing ceremony, the initiative of signing the agreement had been taken by the Abkhaz Minister of Culture.
"The signing of the agreement is a significant step in the preservation of our cultural heritage. This is our common celebration, taking into consideration our historical fraternal roots. I hope and believe that all of the items of the agreement will be implemented in the near future "- said Kokoev.
In turn, Minister of Culture of Abkhazia Badra Gunba thanked the South Ossetian side for the signing of the cooperation agreement.
"I am grateful for this opportunity, because it is our duty to our people, in consideration of historical and cultural ties between South Ossetia and Abkhazia. The agreement will be for the benefit of the creative teams, people of art and culture of our republics, "- he said.
