The Head of State has noted that on August 26 South Ossetia will mark one of the most important public holidays.
"This day is of special significance for all of us. And we must prepare for the celebration with all responsibility, all the planned activities should be carried out at the highest level ", - said the president.
Presidential Adviser for state significant events Zhanna Zasseeva has familiarized the participants with the preliminary plan of activities that will be held in the Republic on August 26. August 7-8 - in South Ossetia will be held the activities with regard to the tragic events of the Georgian aggression in 2008.
"August 26, we plan to hold a large number of activities, among which will be contests, theatrical performances, sports and youth processions, a concert, as well as publication of new books, journals and photo albums ", - said Zasseeva.
According to her, the leitmotif of all the activities is the tragic events occurred five years ago and the gratitude to Russia for its great help and support.
"We expect the arrival of a large number of visitors, among them Russian servicemen, who in August 2008 were upholding our liberty and independence. Among the visitors will also be mothers of the Russian soldiers killed in battles in South Ossetia," - said the state adviser.
She appealed to the heads of district administrations requesting a responsible approach to the celebration of this date and submitting the action plans as soon as possible.
