July 23 Georgian internet portal "Georgia Online" published
an interview with the Deputy State Minister of Georgia for
Reintegration Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, who was a member of
the Georgian delegation at the Geneva discussions on
security in Transcaucasia. Since the statements of
Tsikhelashvili regarding the Geneva discussions seem tobe extremely subjective, the news agency "Res" asked the
Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy of the Republic of South
Ossetia on post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev to
comment on them.
The Geneva discussions on security in Transcaucasia, and,
in particular, the last round were so often discussed in the
media, that one could not pay attention to the interview of
Ms. Tsikhelashvili, but for the extreme nationalism which
runs through the entire interview. From her first words, she
positions herself as the new Georgian government
spokesman, but her interview, -let the reader forgive me
for that word, - stinks of zviadizm (zviadizm is an extreme
form of Georgian nationalism and fascism, by name of the
former Georgian President Zviad Gamsakhurdia, not
recognized by the international community for his overtly
fascist policy and ideology). Ketevan Tsikhelashvili cannot
even pronounce the word "South Ossetia," using a name-
calling term "Samachablo" ("possessions of Machabeli"),
which Gamsakhurdia and his supporters retrieved in 1989
from the bowels of feudalism to more abusing and
humiliation of Ossetians (since the term "Samachablo" is in
no way equivalent to the term "South Ossetia"), whom
Gamsakhurdia was going to "sweep out by Georgian broom
", and Saakashvili planned to turn their land into the "open
field." Speaking about the participants of the Geneva
discussions, Tsikhelashvili does not even mention the
representatives of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, who are on
equal terms with all parties represented at the discussions.
She completely distorts the meaning and purpose of the
Geneva talks, calling them the talks in the Russian-
Georgian aspect. In fact, the Geneva discussions are
conducted in accordance with the agreements of Dmitry
Medvedev and Nicolas Sarkozy on August 12 and
September 8, 2008 and summon to ensure security in South
Ossetia and Abkhazia by Georgia that committed armed
aggression against South Ossetia in August 2008.
If the Georgian authorities and their supporters, Westerners,
are really interested in the positive course of the Geneva
talks, they should think over, whether this lady with her
views will be able to bring some positive notes in the
discussions. For several years the Georgian delegation at
the Geneva talks was headed by one of the ideologists of
saakashizm and one of the authors of the plan -"open
field", and currently one of the leaders of the Georgian
delegation is an outright zviadist. And then people are
surprised that there is no clear progress in the discussions.
- In the interview the report of the Independent Commission
of the European Union, which assessed the events of 2008,
is called the "biased European Report," "dictated by the
Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation."
After August 2008 the European Union has created an
Independent Commission of Inquiry into the war. The
Commission led by the Swiss diplomat Heidi Tagliavini,
consisted of prominent European politicians, diplomats,
military men. After the laborious task the Commission drew
up an extensive report, which clearly stated that the war
against South Ossetia in August 2008 had been unleashed
by Georgia.
Of course, many people in Georgia and in the West did not
like this conclusion. At the same time, the main conclusion
of Tagliavini`s report and the responsibility of the Georgian
leadership was acknowledged by many prominent
politicians, whom it was very difficult to suspect of
sympathizing with the people of Ossetia and Russia, in
particular, Eduard Shevardnadze, Nino Burzhanadze, a son
of Zviad Gamsakhurdia - Tsotne Gamsakhurdia, a former
ambassador of France to Georgia Eric Fournet (for this act
he was obstructed in Georgia) and others.
The current head of the Georgian government, Bidzina
Ivanishvili has repeatedly talked about the responsibility of
Saakashvili that not only in Georgia but also in the West is
known exactly that Saakashvili launched the war in August
2008. Especially no one should doubt who and how was
preparing for the war, after the revelations of the Georgian
General Tristan Tsitelashvili. Georgian General speaks
directly about how in 2007, the Georgian authorities were
preparing for the war, carrying out provocations. He talks
about how on July 25 10,000 special black sacks were
brought to Gori, as explained - for corpses. Tsitelashvili
has added: "the fire on Tskhinval was opened by the
Georgian side on August 7, 2008!"
The fact that Ms. Tsikhelashvili does not want to see the
obvious things– is also the old method of zviadists, as well
as seeing a hand of the "third force" in everything.
