South Ossetia and Russia have agreed to start working on a bilateral agreement in the field of fishery. The need to develop aquaculture in the Republic was discussed at yesterday's meeting in Moscow between the Head of the Russian Federal Agency for Fishery Andrei Krainiy and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Russian Federation Dmitry Medoev, reports the official website of the Federal Agency for Fishery.
At the meeting it was noted that for today in South Ossetia were functioning four fish hatcheries. In the near future the delegation of the Republic will visit Dagestan to learn the work of the Russian fish hatcheries.
According to Andrei Krainiy, it`s necessary to develop aquaculture in South Ossetia, first of all - trout, carp and sturgeon rearing. Russia is ready to provide methodological assistance in this field, as well as to train specialists at the relevant federal institutions.
Following the meeting, taking into account the long-term cooperation, the two sides agreed to start working on a bilateral agreement in the field of fishery.
