Today the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Civil Defense and Disaster Relief of South Ossetia is celebrating the fifth anniversary of its formation.
In connection with the professional holiday of the South Ossetian rescuers a number of events will be held in the Republic.
As the news agency "Res" has been informed at the press service of the ministry, the celebrations are expected to be attended by the guests from Russia and Abkhazia.
In addition, it is planned the signing of the cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Emergency Situations of South Ossetia and Abkhazia. On the central square of the capital will be transferred the machinery of the Russian Emergencies Ministry.
In connection with the fifth anniversary of the South Ossetian EMERCOM will also be held a solemn meeting dedicated to this date, and the reception on behalf of the head of the South Ossetian EMERCOM.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of South Ossetia was established October 4, 2008. It has done great work to ensure the protection of the population and the territory of the Republic from the emergency situations and fire hazard. To date, the Emergencies Ministry includes civil defense service, fire-prevention service, search and rescue unit, working around the clock, responding to all emergencies in the country.
Great assistance in the establishment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of South Ossetia was provided by Russian colleagues. For more efficient and high-quality work the staff of the Emergency Situations Ministry periodically undergoes refresher courses in Russia: are held joint exercises with Russian colleagues, South Ossetian cadets study at the educational institutions of Russia.
