A grand meeting dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the formation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of South Ossetia has been held today in Tskhinval. The event began with t a film show about the work of the South Ossetian Emergencies Ministry.
The staff of the Ministry was congratulated by the President of the Republic Leonid Tibilov. He has noted that one of the youngest departments of South Ossetia was established with the active assistance of Russia in a difficult period for the Republic.
"In a relatively short time, the Ministry has passed a long way of formation and development; today it is able to quickly and efficiently respond to emergencies," - said the head of state.
The President noted that the increase in efficiency of the Ministry was under the constant attention of the leadership of the Republic.
"Due to the huge, invaluable assistance of the RF Ministry for Emergencies, Civil Defense and Disaster Relief are successfully solved the problems of improving professional skills of the rescuers, provision of the advanced technology and modern equipment," - said Tibilov .
The Emergency Ministry, the president has added, have today sufficient resource potential at the highest level to meet the challenges related to prevention and liquidation of emergency situations, helping people in distress.
Minister of Emergency Situations Anatoly Bibilov has also congratulated his staff. He summarized the results of the five-year activities and spoke about the current work of the agency.
"The activities of the Emergencies Ministry are aimed at the comprehensive and qualitative fulfillment of the tasks. About 100 rescuers are on duty around the clock, ready to come to the aid of the citizens," - said the minister.
Minister of Emergency Situations has noted the great role of the Russian counterparts in the formation and development of the South Ossetian Emergency Department."Every year the opportunities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of South Ossetia are increasing, thanks to the cooperation with their Russian counterparts. For five years in the territory of the Republic with the help of Russia were built seven fire-rescue units, were improved the material facilities of the department," - said Bibilov.
He also congratulated the Russian colleagues on the Day of Russian civil defense.
Today, the rescuers were presented the state and departmental awards. In addition, the President of the Republic presented the Head of the Department of Emergency Situations of Abkhazia Lev Kvitsinia, the Head of EMERCOM of North Ossetia Alexander Khoruzhy and Deputy Head of the Department of Emergency Humanitarian Response of the International Affairs Department of the RF Emergencies Ministry Tikhon Bazdyrev with the Order of Friendship.
The rescuers of the Emergency Situations Ministry of South Ossetia, Abkhazia and Russia were also awarded the departmental medals "For Collaboration."
