South Ossetian party "New Ossetia" and the party "Fair Russia" signed in Moscow a cooperation agreement, reports the official website of the "Fair Russia." The agreement was signed by the leaders of the parties David Sanakoev and Sergei Mironov. The document was signed on November 26 in the State Duma within the framework of the round table "The Position of the Social Democrats of Russia and South Ossetia on the development of the North Caucasus region."
Speaking at the roundtable Sergei Mironov has noted that taking into account the geopolitical position of the Caucasus, the recent development of the political and socio -economic situation in the region causes serious concern in the international community , and, of course, especially in Russia.
"We can state with satisfaction that Russia has expanded cooperation with Armenia, Azerbaijan, bilaterally and within the framework of the CIS conducts a dialogue with Georgia to overcome the political problems that have arisen after the events in August 2008. Much attention is paid to strengthening relations with Abkhazia and South Ossetia", - said Mironov.
He has stressed that the party "Fair Russia" considers important the contribution to the rapprochement of the two peoples the cooperation of political forces and organizations in the region, adhering to social democratic orientation.
According to him, South Ossetia has all the prerequisites for rapid forward movement relying on the help and support of Russia.
"The only condition is to establish the efficient, transparent and corruption-free system of power and control. If our colleagues in South Ossetia are able to solve this problem, it will become a reference point for the entire North Caucasus. No one doubts the close relationship of corruption with crime and terrorism. An important role in the prevention of terrorism and organized crime plays the interaction of power structures of Russia and South Ossetia to strengthen border control, which should be welcomed and supported in every way,"- is convinced Mironov.
