The issues of socio-economic cooperation between South Ossetia and Russia have been discussed at the meeting in Tskhinval by President Anatoly Bibilov and Deputy Minister for North Caucasus Affairs Igor Koshin, who has arrived in South Ossetia on a working visit.
According to the press service of the head of state, Prime Minister Erik Pukhaev, head of the Presidential Executive Office Igor Kozaev, heads of the Republican ministries have also taken part in the meeting.
The agenda of the meeting touched upon the implementation of the Investment Program for 2018-2019, as well as preparations for the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) on the socio-economic cooperation between South Ossetia and the Russian Federation, which will be held in Moscow on November 15, 2018.
Anatoly Bibilov has noted that the positive changes in South Ossetia are directly related to the implementation of the Investment Program.
“To date, 70% of the Investment Program has been implemented. This is a good result. By the end of the year there will be new reports, until November 15 there will be enough time to complete the work. In the course of the IGC, new tasks will have to be determined, the results of the work will be summarized and the Investment Program for 2020-2022 will be discussed,” said Anatoly Bibilov.
He has also focused on the importance of the gasification project in South Ossetia, which is at the negotiation stage.
“The project aims to create comfortable living conditions for residents of South Ossetia,” said the head of state.
Igor Koshin noted the high rates of work at the facilities under construction, including the construction of the Gufta-Kvaisa road, which he inspected during his visit.
“Today we will consider the main issues on the agenda, which will be discussed at the upcoming meeting of the IGC. Let us summarize the results of the year and outline plans for the coming 2019. In addition, we define approaches for the formation of the next Investment Program. The government of the Russian Federation is not just open for communication, it faces a clear goal - to help the Republic with all our strength,” he said.
