After the long break, a regular meeting in the format of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanisms (IPRM) took place on the border of South Ossetia and Georgia, during which the incidents taking place at the border and issues of concern were discussed.
After the meeting, the head of the South Ossetian delegation Egor Kochiev, told South Ossetian journalists about the topics discussed.
Kochiev has noted that the meeting in the format of IPRMR was held in a constructive manner.
According to Kochiev, the South Ossetian party once again raised the question of the need to mark the borderline between South Ossetia and Georgia.
“As at the previous meetings, the Georgian party referred to the fact that this was a political issue. We have tried to point out that this issue is of purely practical importance to facilitate the life of people who will know where the territory of South Ossetia and the territory of Georgia is.And there will not be all related sanctions for the detention of violators, fines, court proceedings," said Yegor Kochiev...
Kochiev has noted that the issue of holding provocative rallies on the border of South Ossetia by Georgian nationalists was also discussed at the IPRM meeting.
"We have noted that, due to self-restraint of the South Ossetian border guards, our law enforcement agencies, this incident did not escalate into something more," he said.
The head of the delegation has noted that the next IPRM meeting was tentatively scheduled for February 8.
