The next round of the Geneva talks is scheduled for July.
State Secretary - Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Grigory Karasin discussed on the phone with the UN representative, the Сo-chairman of the Geneva discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia, Ms. Dzhihan Sultanoglu, the preparation of a new round of negotiations, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
The parties exchanged views on the preparation of a new round of international discussions in Geneva.
Geneva discussions on security and stability in the South Caucasus are regularly held since October 2008. One of the main issues is the signing of a document on the non-use of force. Moscow, Tskhinval and Sukhum urge Tbilisi to sign this agreement, but Georgia, which does not recognize the independence of its former autonomies, insists that Russia should undertake the non-use of force obligation. South Ossetia and Abkhazia emphasized that Georgia should conclude this agreement with the two republics, but not with the Russian Federation, which is not a party to the conflict.
