Mourning events dedicated to the next anniversary of the war in August 2008 will be held in South Ossetia.
According to the Minister of Culture of the Republic Zhanna Zasseeva, the commemorative action " A tear of bitter memory " will be held on August 7-8.
“We will remember every defender of the Fatherland, who gave his life, protecting us - the people of South Ossetia, and light candles in their memory. These are both our guys and Russian soldiers, to whom we owe, as our own children. They are all defenders of our heart, soul, life ... Defender of the Fatherland does not have a nationality,” said Zhanna Zasseyeva.
According to her, mourning events will begin with a visit to the Museum of Burned Souls on August 7, at 22.30.
“People will lay flowers at the Tree of Sorrow; a prayer service will be held there at the Orthodox Cross. And at 23.55, the campaign “We will remember everything!” will start at the Gergiev Stairs in Tskhinval” the Minister said.
She has noted that at 23.57 the head of state Anatoly Bibilov will address the people, after which the rally “I blame fascism ...” will be held at the Gergiev stairs, and at 00.50 participants in the mourning events will hear the sounds of a metronome in memory of the victims of the war.
The next day, August 8, flowers will be laid at the monument to the fallen defenders of the Fatherland.
