A delegation of South Ossetia consisting of three people - representatives of the Presidential Executive Office, ,the Central Election Commission and the Parliament will leave for Abkhazia as international observers in the presidential election, Alan Dzhussoev, one of the representatives of the South Ossetian delegation, the first Deputy Head of the Presidential Executive Office, told IA "Res ".
According to him, the delegation of the Republic will be headed by the first Vice Speaker of the Parliament Petr Gassiev.
He has noted that each government - executive and legislative - for its part, invites observers from friendly countries to monitor the election process.
"With this in mind, our delegation was formed," said Alan Dzhussoyev.
The election of the President of Abkhazia will be held on August 25, 2019. According to the Abkhaz media, for the first time in the history of the presidential election in Abkhazia, 10 candidates are participating in the campaign.
The president is elected for a five-year term. One and the same person may be the head of state for no more than two consecutive terms. Simultaneously with the head of Abkhazia, a Vice President is also elected.
