Over the past day in South Ossetia, 12 new cases of coronavirus were detected among the arrived cadets who were quarantined in medical institutions, Anna Gagloeva, Deputy head of the South-Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee, told IA "Res ”on Friday.
“In the laboratory of the Republican Medical Center over the past day, 27 tests (1529 in total) were conducted, 12 of them showed a positive result. All new sick cadets arrived from Russia,” Gagloeva clarified.
Thus, on the morning of June 5th, there are 26 people in the Tskhinval Infectious Diseases Hospital who have laboratory confirmed coronavirus, among them 19 cadets, 5 citizens who arrived from Vladikavkaz, one serviceman and one person from the medical staff.
“In total, there are 239 people under observation, including 158 in medical institutions: in the Republican Medical Center - 47, in the isolation ward- 45, in the village of Dzau - 31, in Znaur - 14, in Leningor - 21 and two others on self-isolation, in the hotel "Alan". Groups of cadets and citizens arriving through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continue to be quarantined, " she said.
“Thus, there have been 57 patients with coronavirus over the entire period, of whom 31 have recovered and been discharged to date,” the doctor said.
The first three cases of coronavirus infection in the Republic were recorded on May 5.
The government of the Republic decided to extend the closure of the border of South Ossetia with Russia until June 30. The measures taken do not apply to citizens of South Ossetia returning to the Republic according to a specially developed schedule through the consular department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On May 25, the arrival of citizens and cadets began according to the schedule developed by the operational headquarters.
