President Anatoly Bibilov, at the meeting with a delegation of the Lugansk People's Republic, which arrived in Tskhinval to participate in the events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Republic of South Ossetia, conveyed the words of gratitude and best wishes to the head of the LPR Leonid Pasechnik, assuring that South Ossetia remains committed to all agreements.
As reported by the press service of the President and the government, expressing the words of gratitude, Anatoly Bibilov noted that "the celebrated holiday is associated with tragic events for the people of the Republic of South Ossetia."
“Unfortunately, many people gave their lives for independence, but we are proud of the achievement of the goal that the people were setting for themselves from 1989 to 2008 - recognition of the independence of the Republic of South Ossetia from Georgia. And the most valuable thing about this holiday is that our children no longer flinch from the explosions of shells, our children today learn in peace and tranquility, the population of South Ossetia is moving forward, houses, roads are being built, and social infrastructure is developing. This is the highest achievement of all these 30 years that South Ossetia has been living independently, having proclaimed its independence, ”he said.
The head of state has noted that the Republic is closely following what is happening in Lugansk.
“South Ossetia is a friend of the Lugansk People's Republic and all the processes that are taking place in our fraternal republic are not distant actions for us. I emphasize once again that South Ossetia is ready to cooperate in absolutely all spheres to help the Lugansk People's Republic in its struggle. And there is no doubt that the people of the Lugansk People's Republic will achieve their goal in the same way as the people of the Republic of South Ossetia achieved their goal.
Thank you for sharing our holiday with us,” he said.
For his part, Vladislav Deinogo congratulated the people of South Ossetia on this significant date, noting that "the LPR was following the events of 2008 with special pain, which showed the full extent of trials that the heroic republic is going through on the way of its formation."
“You are talking about things that are absolutely clear and close to us. We were following the fate of South Ossetia with a shuddering heart. You have shown worthy determination to follow the course that you took 30 years ago. This causes great respect.
Our republic is going through the same period. And we are grateful to you for the recognition of the independence of the Lugansk People's Republic.
Today, this is the only foothold that gives us hope for tomorrow. Your assurances in the prospects for expanding cooperation are very encouraging,” he said and wished success and prosperity to the Republic of South Ossetia.
For the South Ossetian part, the meeting was also attended by Acting Foreign Minister Dmitry Medoev.
For the part of the LPR - Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the LPR Vladislav Deynogo, Chairman of the Committee of the People's Council of the LPR on international relations, communications, information policy and mass communications Denis Kolesnikov and his assistant Yulia Reshetnyak.
