President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov met on Saturday with a deputy of the Krasnodar City Duma, commander of a helicopter regiment in South Ossetia in 1990-1992.Alexei Vostrikov, who arrived in Tskhinval to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Republic of South Ossetia, the press service of the head of state reports.
“I am very proud and pleased that you have come today to celebrate with us the 30th anniversary of the Republic of South Ossetia. You are an honorary citizen of our Republic, you have done a lot for it.
The qualities of an officer that you showed when you commanded a helicopter regiment helped to deter aggression and save many lives. The people will always be grateful to you for this; they will always love and respect you. And I am sure that for you, as the eyewitness to the formation of our Republic, this date is significant, as for any citizen of the Republic of South Ossetia, ”Anatoly Bibilov said.
For his part, Aleksey Vostrikov has stressed that the years of the Georgian-Ossetian confrontation were the most difficult in his life and that they cannot be forgotten.
“I was doubly pleased to come here on this significant date. I personally voted for the Republic. It is very pleasant that our dreams have come true, but it is a pity that at a high price,” he said.
Acting Foreign Minister Dmitry Medoev also took part in the meeting.
