During his working trip to Moscow, Prime Minister of South Ossetia Gennady Bekoev met with the head of Rostourism Zarina Doguzova.
According to the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers, the topic of the meeting was the prospects for the development of the tourism industry in South Ossetia.
As noted by the head of the government, in a friendly and constructive atmosphere, a discussion of the most pressing issues took place, in the solution of which Rostourism can assist.
It was about providing methodological assistance in the formation of a regulatory framework, training qualified personnel involved in the formation of state policy in the field of tourism, popularization of the tourism industry, the formation of the image of South Ossetia as a territory favorable for tourism, promotion of tourism products and much more.
Gennady Bekoev has emphasized that tourism is a promising area of development of the Republic, which is given special attention in the program of socio-economic development of South Ossetia for 2023-2025, developed by the Government of the Republic of South Ossetia with the assistance of colleagues from the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
He has noted that tourism in the Republic is seen as one of the most profitable and promising "points of growth" of the economy, and stressed the importance of continuing to work on the development of the tourism cluster together with Rosturizm.
"From the point of view of tourism development, South Ossetia has a huge potential. And it must be disclosed. I hope that with the assistance of Rostourism we will succeed.
Of course, there is a lot of work to be done. But today we can say that in the last three years the situation has changed for the better, a lot has been done in terms of infrastructure development along tourist routes, road and street network in cities and districts, services," Gennady Bekoev said.
The Prime Minister has also said that the issue of preparing and signing an interdepartmental agreement between the Ministry of Economic Development of South Ossetia and Rostourism is being worked out.
