On the first day after the second batch of Russian coronavirus vaccine arrived in South Ossetia, five people were vaccinated at the RMMC polyclinic. The head of the outpatient medical center Tamara Sanakoeva told the “Res” news agency that on Thursday evening a new batch of 2,000 doses of Russian vaccine against coronavirus infection had been delivered to the Republican Medical Center of South Ossetia.
“On Friday, morning five people were vaccinated with the Sputnik Light single-component vaccine. Others have signed up for the next week. The vaccine is stored in special refrigerators. Today we called the districts of the Republic, they will take their part of the vaccines, and those who wish will be able to get vaccinated on the spot,” she said.
According to Sanakoeva, before vaccination, all patients undergo a medical examination, if there are any contraindications, then vaccination is not carried out.
She has added, that Sputnik Light does not require a second dose of the drug.
Sanakoeva called on the citizens of South Ossetia to get vaccinated to protect themselves and their loved ones.
The Sputnik Light vaccine is the first component of the Sputnik V vaccine, registered in Russia and in 70 other countries with a total population of 4 billion people. The first batch of the Russian vaccine in the amount of two thousand doses was delivered to South Ossetia in April this year; since May, more than a thousand people have been vaccinated against the coronavirus in the Republic.
