The command and personnel of the Ministry of Defense of South Ossetia are mourning the death of Ruslan Omarovich Besaev, the former serviceman of the Special Purpose Battalion, and express their condolences to the family of the deceased.
Besaev took part in a special military operation of the Russian Armed Forces on the territory of Ukraine as a volunteer, died heroically in battles in the Mariupol region, the press service of the defense department reported.
Ruslan Besaev was born on July 14, 1986. At various times he was serving in the Ossetian battalion of the Peacekeeping Forces, in a number of units of the Defense Ministry of South Ossetia (motorized rifle battalion, artillery battalion, special forces battalion) in various positions. Member of the fighting to repel the Georgian aggression against South Ossetia in 2004-2008.

Besaev also professionally went in for sports - first freestyle wrestling, then complex martial arts, more than once became the winner and prize-winner of prestigious Russian and international tournaments. Among them: the bronze medalist of the CSTO Cup in complex martial arts, the silver medalist of the International Tournament in service martial arts "Alpha Cup".
