South Ossetian parliamentarians supported the statement of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on the need to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade carried out by the United States against the Republic of Cuba.
The question was brought to the meeting of the session on Monday by the first Vice-Speaker of the Parliament Peter Gassiev.
The statement says that the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation strongly condemns the use of sanctions by the United States of America (USA) against the Republic of Cuba, regards the US actions as a systemic gross violation of the principles and norms of international law formulated in the UN Charter, a challenge to the entire system of international relations undermining the foundations of global and regional stability.
"The results of the vote on this resolution once again confirmed the almost unanimous rejection of Washington's unilateral restrictive policy by the international community," the authors of the statement have noted.
The senators of the Russian Federation have expressed their unwavering solidarity with the leadership and people of the Republic of Cuba in their just and legitimate demands for an immediate end to the trade, economic and financial embargo by the United States.
Peter Gassiev has noted that on the basis of this statement, a resolution of the Parliament of South Ossetia was adopted.
"The Parliament of South Ossetia made decision to approve the statement of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on the need to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade carried out by the United States of America against the Republic of Cuba," the First Vice Speaker has stressed.
