A delegation of the Moscow State University of Geodesy and Cartography (MIIGAiK) headed by Rector of the university Nadezhda Kamynina arrived in South Ossetia on a working visit.
On Tuesday, on the basis of the A.Tibilov South Ossetian State University, a working meeting of the leadership of South Ossetian State University, headed by Rector Vadim Tedeev, with representatives of MIIGAiK took place. The meeting was attended by the heads of interested ministries and departments of South Ossetia, invited to participate by the Embassy of the Republic - Minister of Education and Science of the Republic Aslan Lolaev, head of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of South Ossetia Oleg Gagloev, as well as the projector for educational work of the South Ossetian State University Stanislav Gobozov, Vice-Rector for Research Lana Gagloeva and others.
The Moscow State University of Geodesy and Cartography was represented by Vice-Rectors of the University Natalya Karlova and Alexey Karpukov, Alexander Royakin, Advisor to the Rector Yevgeny Solodkov.
Rector of the South Ossetian State University told the guests about the life and activities of the university. Vadim Tedeev has emphasized that South Ossetian State University is ready for fruitful cooperation with Moscow University.
“We understand the importance of your visit to the Republic and will do our best to transform the format of our relations into the most effective one,” Tedeev has stressed.
The MIIGAiK Rector Nadezhda Kamynina said that the story of acquaintance with South Ossetia had began with a working meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic in Russia.
“Znaur Nikolaevich visited us five years ago, and in the plane of our promising areas of cooperation, first of all, laid the issues of cartographic and geodetic support for the development of the Republic. For our part, we are always anxious about such important state tasks. Our next meeting, which took place as part of the implementation of the roadmap for the interaction between Rosreestr and Yugosressr, led to the signing of the agreement between the Republic and our university on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg Forum. Without delay, we began to interact, ”said Kamynina.
Nadezhda Kamynina noted that according to the agreements reached between the Embassy and MIIGAiK, personnel training for the republic in the field of geodesy, cartography and cadastre will be carried out within the framework of bachelor's and master's degree programs with the provision of a dormitory. It is also planned to receive 15 employees of the Yugreestr.
“We are ready to cooperate. I want to wish prosperity to the Republic,” she said.
Rector of the Moscow University has clarified that for the 2024-2025 academic year, South Ossetia will be provided with 18 master's degree places, ten people will be able to undergo free advanced training at a Moscow University and ten more people will improve their professional training.
Minister of Justice of South Ossetia Oleg Gagloev thanked the delegation from MIIGAiK for their cooperation.
“Thank you very much for the opportunity that the employees of our department will have to undergo advanced training for further work for the benefit of the fatherland. We are glad to cooperate, come to us more often,” Gagloev said.
The head of the Ministry of Education Aslan Lolayev has noted that the issue of career guidance remains a serious problem in the Republic.
The visit of the MIIGAiK delegation to Tskhinvali is the result of a cooperation agreement signed on the sidelines of the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg on July 15, 2023 between the Embassy of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Russian Federation and the federal state budgetary educational institution of higher education "Moscow State University of Geodesy and Cartography".
