Dozens of attempts to illegally cross the state border of South Ossetia were prevented thanks to the vigilance and efficiency of еру Russian border guards, President Alan Gagloev noted during the reporting meeting of the Border Directorate of the FSB of Russia in the Republic of South Ossetia.
The Border Directorate on Wednesday summed up the results of operational and service activities for 2024.
The head of the South Ossetian state рфы noted that this event is not just a summary of the intense and responsible work for the year, but also the opportunity to once again express deep gratitude for the contribution to ensuring the security of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation.
“2024 has become another confirmation of your dedication, professionalism and loyalty to the oath. Thanks to you, violations in the border area have been stopped, which significantly contributes to strengthening law and order, stability in South Ossetia,” the President’s press service quotes him as saying.
Gagloev has emphasized that the work of border guards is not only to protect borders, but also to ensure the safety of every citizen of the Republic.
“Your daily work confirms the ability to respond promptly to any threats, demonstrating determination and fortitude, remaining faithful to the traditions of older generations of border guards,” the president said.
In his speech, Alan Gagloev especially emphasized the close cooperation of the Russian border guards with the Border Service of the KGB of the Republic of South Ossetia, “with which the tasks of protecting the border and ensuring security in the region are jointly implemented.”
“I thank each of you for your dedication, courage and self-sacrifice. Your successes and achievements are the result of daily painstaking work, in which there is no place for indifference and negligence. Thank you for your service!” he said.
The meeting was also attended by Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov.
He also highly praised the work of the Border Directorate.
“The Directorate has always contributed to the solution of our foreign policy tasks within the framework of the IPRM and in the Geneva discussions, and relevant work was carried out at the international venues: in New York, Vienna, and Brussels. Thank you for this work. It was well-coordinated, persistent, and competent. I would like to note the professionalism and dedication of the employees,” the Ambassador has noted.
Kulakhmetov has also positively praised the work of the Border Directorate employees who are on the line of combat contact – on the borders of the special military operation.
“Of course, the Russian leadership highly appreciates your work. This is the merit of your team,” the Ambassador has concluded.
