Tasbolat Ibrashev is a hero whose name is forever inscribed in the history of South Ossetia. This was noted by the President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev in a telegram of condolences to the family and friends of the Russian serviceman Ibrashev in connection with his tragic death in the special military operation zone.
The President has reminded that Ibrashev, having shown unparalleled courage and selflessness, during the combat operations in South Ossetia in 2008, with a machine gun in his hands, blocked the path of the entire Georgian military column.
“The bright memory of him and his feat will forever remain in the hearts of the Ossetian people,” Gagloev has noted.
Ibrashev perished in Volchansk, Kharkov region, on February 3 .
Everyone knew Ibrashev in South Ossetia. Then, at the height of the combat operations in August 2008, the still very young Tasbolat Ibrashev, with a machine gun in his hands, single-handedly blocked the path of the entire Georgian military column.
This act of incredible bravery, shown in the face of a clear numerical superiority of the enemy, has become a symbol of selflessness and readiness to defend his fellow citizens. His actions, captured on video and photographs, quickly spread around the world, becoming a striking example of heroism in the armed conflict.
For his heroism, Tasbolat Ibrashev was awarded high state awards. His feat has become a legend, told by many generations. He has become a symbol of courage and patriotism for many Russian servicemen.
