The Central Election Committee of South Ossetia has accepted today subscription lists from the action groups nominating ex- Chairman of the Committee of Transportation Maurice Sanakoev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to the RF Dmitry Medoev and chief bailiff of the Ministry of Justice Sergei Bitiev as the presidential candidates.
The action groups in support of presidential aspirants of South Ossetia - MP of the IVth convocation Sergei Zasseev and a businessman Oleg Kozaev -submitted subscription lists with the required 500 signatures to the Central Election Committee.
A presidential aspirant of South Ossetia, a former KGB chairman Leonid Tibilov has passed today an exam in revealing qualifications of the official languages. As reported to IA "Res" by the CEC secretary of South Ossetia, Irina Gassieva, Tibilov wrote a dictation in Russian and Ossetian, and then addressed the commission on the topic "Problems of Development of Education and Science in your election platform.
Foreign Minister of South Ossetia Murat Dzhioev has announced that the Diplomatic mission of South Ossetia in Moscow was currently headed by the Charge d'Affaires of the Republic in the Russian Federation Akhsar Dzhioev. A presidential aspirant of South Ossetia, a Vice-Speaker of Parliament Yuri Dzitstsoity has passed today an exam on qualifications of the official languages, necessary for registration of presidential candidates. As IA "Res" has been informed at the CEC of South Ossetia, Yuri Dzitstsoity passed the exam successfully, and members of the linguistic commission gave him a pass.
The Central Election Committee of South Ossetia has registered two action groups, nominating Anatoly Dzhioev and former Deputy Speaker Sergei Pliev as the candidates for president of South Ossetia. As IA "Res" has been informed at the CEC of South Ossetia, the authorized representatives of the party "Raestag IR" (Fair Ossetia), nominating the former head of Dzausky district administration of South Ossetia Pavel Kumaritov, were issued a certificate of registration. Deadline for applications from the action groups and political parties is February 9. The action teams supporting Dzhioev and Pliev, as well as the authorized representatives of the party "Raestag IR" were the latest who had submitted applications to the CEC.
President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of South Ossetia Roin Kozaev has been refused the registration as a candidate for President of the Republic.
As reported to IA "Res" by the Chairman of the Central Election Committee of South Ossetia Bella Plieva, the decision was made in accordance with the relevant requirements of the Constitutional Law of South Ossetia "On elections of President of South Ossetia" and the Constitutional Law of South Ossetia, "On guarantees of electoral rights and the right to participate in the referendum of the citizens of South Ossetia."

Tonight, the CEC of South Ossetia will complete acceptance of applications from the action groups and political parties, nominating candidates for president of South Ossetia. In accordance with legislation, the action groups can begin collecting signatures in support of the nominated candidates since the date of issuance of the CEC certificate of registration. CEC is obliged to consider the documents within 10 days.
A meeting of the action group, nominating the parliament deputy of the first four convocations, coordinator of the Ossetian Popular Front Tarzan Kokoity as president of South Ossetia, has been held today in Tskhinval. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Central Election Committee. Representatives of t intelligentsia and the business community of South Ossetia have supported the candidacy of Tarzan Kokoity. The presidential aspirant thanked everyone for their support and trust.
