The first meeting of the official representatives of Russia and Georgia held in Switzerland within the framework of settlement the Russian-Georgian relations, has not given any concrete results. There is every reason to believe that this will continue, and the planned meetings held "once within two or three months", will be another stillborn pseudo-diplomatic format like the "Geneva talks." This, certainly, will not affect the Russian-Ossetian relations and the situation in South Ossetia as a whole.

Murat Dzhioev: Georgian delegation at the 22 round of the Geneva discussions was not ready for a constructive dialogue

Lately, representatives of the new Georgian government have been actively discussing in the media the results of the 22 round of Geneva discussions on security in Transcaucasia. According to the Georgian politicians, their "constructive" proposals have not been announced, as the Ossetian and the Abkhaz participants "did not take into consideration that it would be better to take more positive steps in relations with the new government of Georgia."

The Geneva platform is still important for South Ossetia – the president

South Ossetia continues to insist on signing a legally binding agreement on non-use of force against South Ossetia and Abkhazia, said Presidential Envoy of South Ossetia on post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev.
"In consideration of the new political situation of Georgia, we look forward to progress on this issue", - said the President of South Ossetia during the meeting with the heads of the law-enforcement agencies , referring to the results of the last 22 round of talks in Geneva.

A regular meeting of MPRI will be held at the border of South Ossetia and Georgia

Tomorrow, December 18, a new trilateral meeting of the joint Mechanisms on Prevention and Reaction to Incidents (MPRI) will be held in the Georgian village of Ergneti, which is bordering on South Ossetia.
