President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev met with Ambassador of Abkhazia to the Republic Alan Elbakiev, the press service of the head of state reported.
Gagloev warmly greeted the diplomat and congratulated him on the national holiday of the Republic of Abkhazia – the Victory and Independence Day.
"Today, our fraternal republic, the people of Abkhazia are celebrating the main national holiday – the Victory and Independence Day.
The Russian House in Tskhinval has prepared the exhibition "People of New Regions" dedicated to the second anniversary of the reunification of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions with the historical homeland of Russia.

A delegation of the South Ossetian Defense Ministry, headed by Acting Defense Minister, Colonel Inal Sabanov, took part in the celebrations in honor of Victory Day and Independence of Abkhazia, the Defense Ministry's press service reported.
"Inal Sabanov, accompanied by representatives of the Ministry, took part in the ceremony of laying flowers at the memorial to those killed in the Patriotic War of the people of Abkhazia in the Park of Glory in Sukhum and attended the military parade dedicated to the 31st anniversary of the Victory," the press service said.
People of Abkhazia have shown exceptional courage and heroism over the years, persistently striving to gain independence. This was noted by President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev in his congratulation to leader of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhania on the national holiday - Victory and Independence Day.
Gagloev has emphasized that thousands of glorious sons and daughters gave their lives so that the current generation of the country's residents could live in freedom and prosperity.
