The Bulgarian city of Kardzhali celebrated the 160th anniversary of Kost Khetagurov, the information portal Osnova reports.

The 160th anniversary of the birth of Kost Khetagurov was celebrated in the twin city of Vladikavkaz, Bulgarian Kardzhali. Its inhabitants paid tribute to the founder of the Ossetian writing and literature. Acting mayor Katya Mitovska laid a wreath at the bust of Khetagurov, established in the years of close cooperation between Kardzhali and Ordzhonikidze. The monument has been a symbol of good cultural relations between the two cities for many years.

The II International Festival "Sources" has opened in Turkey, which is taking place as part of the Days of Russian Culture in Turkey. The culture of Ossetia at the festival is represented by a delegation led by an opera singer, Honored Artist of Ossetia, Advisor to Minister of the Republic of North Ossetia-Al Amaga Gotti. 

In addition, the festival is attended by the soloist of the Moscow ensemble "Alania", Honored Artist of South Ossetia Alana Tskhovrebova, winner of the international vocal competitions, a student of the South Ossetian University Marta Kharebova.

The Human Rights Ombudsman under the President of South Ossetia, Inal Tasoev, took part in the meeting of the expert group on the topic “The missing: the ways to clarify fate and help families”, which was held in Nicosia, Cyprus, October 16-18.
