South Ossetia has prospects for recognition of sovereignty in Latin America, in which Venezuela and Nicaragua can assist. This was stated to Izvestia by President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev on the eve of the Day of Recognition of State Independence, which will be celebrated on August 26.

The sovereignty of South Ossetia has been recognized by the five UN member states, as well as by several republics with the status of partially recognized or unrecognized.

Joining the Union State is one of the possible and most promising options for South Ossetia, President Alan Gagloev said in his interview with Izvestia.

On the eve of the Day of Recognition of State Independence, which will be celebrated on August 26, the head of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev gave a detailed interview to the newspaper about the historical choice of the path of rapprochement with Russia, Georgia's proposals to join the EU together, and Tskhinval's actions to develop international cooperation.

The event was attended by employees of the Presidential Executive Office, Ambassador of Abkhazia to South Ossetia Alan Elbakiev, members of Parliament, representatives of the law enforcement agencies, the public, and youth.

In July, 24 violators of the established legal regimes were detained in South Ossetia at various sections of the state border of the Republic, including 14 violators of the state border regime and 10 violators of the border regime, the KGB of the Republic of South Ossetia reports.
