Recently Saakashvili has stated that in case of his win at the presidential elections in Georgia he would intend to “settle relations with Russia”. “Res” correspondent accosted RSO Foreign Minister Murat Djioev for the comments.
-In fact, the development of relations between Russia and Georgia is their own business.
However, knowing present aspirations of Georgian political elite such a statement of Saakashvili is rather doubtful. And who did derange their relations?

The statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, in which the Lithuanian side expresses indignation by the fact, that on October, 16th, 2007 the experts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania and the embassy of Lithuania in Georgia have not been admitted to Tskhinval, has commented the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Murat Dzhioev:
«On October, 19th in Tskhinval there took place the next session of the Organizing committee on realization of the donor program of OSCE, in which have also taken part the representatives of Lithuania, as one of the countries-donors of the program. As if to the visit of the representatives of Lithuania on October, 16th, then the Embassy of Lithuania in Georgia did not address the authorities of South Ossetia on this question. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia has been informed about it by the Tskhinval office of OSCE on realization of the program. However the realization of the visit was not possible as literally these days the authorities of Lithuania received Dmitriy Sanakoev, who was giving himself for the "representative" of South Ossetia, and actually being the petty officer without a certain status in the administrative hierarchy of Georgia and not having any right to speak on the behalf of the people of South Ossetia. Before it, on September, 21st the Ambassador of Lithuania in Georgia has arrived by the roundabout road to the village of Tamarasheni, which is on the territory of the part of South Ossetia, occupied by Georgia, on a conference, specially organized there by the authorities of Georgia with the purpose of giving some legitimacy to its sham « temporary administrative unit », headed by Sanakoev.

As it has already been informed by the news agency "Res", on October, 21st the georgian special services have kidnapped the inhabitant of Znaur region of the Republic South Ossetia Ivan Bestaev. The correspondent of «Res» has addressed for comments on the given incident to the co-chairman of the Joint Control Commission from the south-ossetian side Boris Chochiev. To his words, in the Republic of South Ossetia they expected that the georgian side would make something similar.

«In Moscow there have taken place the tripartite consultations of the co-chairmen of the Joint Control Commission from the Republic of South Ossetia, the Republic of North Ossetia-Аlania and Russia. Unfortunately, the Georgian party, earlier having declared on their readiness to negotiations, has not take part in these consultations.

On October, 14th, 2007, a monitoring by the group of military observers from the three parties together with the representative of the Mission of OSCE had been held in the area of the settlement of Nuli and the settlement of Gverteti on the fact of aggravation of the situation in connection with the pendency of territorial disputes around the orchards.
