Acting President of South Ossetia Vadim Brovtsev considers as the "good sign" an appointment of Taimuraz Mamsurov a special envoy of the Russian President in South Ossetia.
"Two fraternal republics are linked historically. One nation is living in North and South Ossetia. I am convinced, that now, after the appointment of the head of the neighboring republic Taimuraz Mamsurov as the special envoy of the Russian President, good links between our country and Russia will be more strengthened. This is a good sign,"- told Brovtsev.
He stressed that "such an appointment can hardly be considered accidental, as Mamsurov, like nobody other, better than many other Russian politicians feels the situation in South Ossetia; he is aware of its problems." "With this appointment the development of bilateral economic, cultural and other relations will receive a new impulse, which will have a positive impact on the process of building a new peaceful life in South Ossetia", - said V. Brovtsev, adding that the decision of the Russian President had been perceived by the people of the Republic with great enthusiasm.
The Acting President also underlined that the joint efforts could make a lot.
"We have many drafts of bilateral agreements with Russia in various fields. I am sure that from now on their conclusion and implementation will be met faster,"- he concluded.
It should be noted that today, the President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev has appointed Taimuraz Mamsurov a special envoy of the Head of the Russian Federation in South Ossetia. Mamsurov is the head of North Ossetia since 2005.
