Relatives of the missing citizens of South Ossetia have addressed to the Prime Minister and Attorney General of Georgia to help in determining the fate of their family members. The appeal was handed to the OSCE co-chairman of the Geneva discussions on security in Transcaucasia Andriy Deshitsa before the beginning of the regular meeting of participants of Mechanisms on Prevention and Reaction to Incidents (MPRI), held in the Georgian village of Ergneti at the border of South Ossetia.
Andriy Deschitsa has assured relatives of the missing, that he and his colleagues will raise this issue at all levels.
"I will convey your message to the addressees. I will keep on monitoring the issue, and as soon as we have any information, we will inform you "- said Deschitsa.
The MPRI meeting is currently being held behind closed doors. On the agenda are the issues -the situation at the border between South Ossetia and Georgia, the incidents occurred since the previous meeting held on December 18, 2012.
According to the RSO Presidential Envoy for post-conflict settlement, the South Ossetian side intends to raise the issue of the situation in the village of Zardiantkari, which after the placing of the Georgian police checkpoint in the area( June,29, 2012) has not changed for the better.
Among the questions, put on the agenda, is the issue of the fate of the South Ossetian citizens kept in Georgian prisons.
The meeting is attended by representatives of South Ossetia, Russia and Georgia, with the participation of the EU observers and the OSCE co-chair of the Geneva talks.
South Ossetian delegation is headed by Deputy Presidential Envoy to South Ossetia on post-conflict settlement Khokh Gagloyty.
