Appeal of the relatives of the missing citizens of South Ossetia was submitted to the General Prosecutor's Office of Georgia

Participants of the Geneva discussions on security in Transcaucasia submitted an appeal of the relatives of the missing persons in South Ossetia to the Prosecutor General of Georgia. This was said to journalists by the OSCE co-chairman Andriy Deschitsa after a meeting in Tskhinval with the South Ossetian delegation at the Geneva talks.

"At today's meeting, we informed the South Ossetian counterparts of the missing citizens of South Ossetia, as well as of the imprisoned in Georgia," - said Deschitsa.
He has noted that on March 12 an appeal of the relatives of the missing citizens of South Ossetia for help in clarifying the fate of their loved ones was submitted to the Prosecutor General of Georgia.
"This appeal is under consideration of the General Prosecutor's Office of Georgia. We were assured that the issue of the missing persons would be scrutinizedthoroughly. We also proposed a meeting of the Attorney General of Georgia with relatives of the missing people, as well as with the witnesses to the fact of the disappearance of these citizens, "- said the co-chairman.
He also pointed to the progress in releasing the South Ossetian citizens from the Georgian prisons.
"From 13 citizens of South Ossetia, serving sentence in prisons of Georgia, for today have been released four people," - said Deschitsa.
It should be reminded, on January 29, before starting a meeting of the Mechanisms for Preventing and Responding to Incidents relatives of the missing citizens of South Ossetia handed over to the OSCE co-chairman of the Geneva discussions on security in Transcaucasia Andriy Deschitsa an appeal addressed to the Prime Minister and the Attorney General of Georgia for help to clarify the fate of their relatives.
