The border guards of the FSS Border Control Agency of Russia in South Ossetia have detected ammunition in Tskhinval district (near the village of Grom).
As the news agency "Res" was informed at the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the RSO, near the village the Russian border guards had found four grenade launchers RPG-7, which were handed to experts of the RSO MES for further destruction. The RSO Emergency Situations Ministry has once again appealed to the population through the media with a request for immediate informing of the relevant structures in case of detection of explosives or other dangerous weapons.
"We reminded the citizens that in order to prevent accidents, people are obliged to bring the illegally stored ammunition to the law enforcement agencies," - he added.
According to the rescuers, it is possible that the found ammunition might be left by any local resident, who had been keeping them since the war and so he decided to get rid of them in such a way.
"But they could be found by children and if they started messing around with them, it would have inevitably led tolethal outcome. Therefore, in order to prevent tragic accidents, citizens, who want to get rid of the ammunition remaining since the war, should bring them to the Emergencies Ministry, but must not leave them anywhere, "- he stressed.
The Ministry representative has made an example the action of the resident of the village of Zar (Tskhinval district) Zelim Tigiev, who on March 26 discovered a box with 14 RGD near the village and brought them to the MOE.
