South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov awarded a native of the Republic Amanda Kokoeva with a Certificate of Honor for showing integrity in objective informing the international community of the events in August 2008.

"Being a little girl, Amanda Kokoeva showed these qualities in 2008" - the president said.
Leonid Tibilov has emphasized that in those terrible for South Ossetia days Amanda committed the information breakthrough, telling the world what she had seen with her own eyes in August 2008 in South Ossetia.
"South Ossetia is proud of your brave deed and wish you never forget your homeland, the places where you spent your childhood and bear the Ossetian flag with the head held up high," - said the president.
In turn, Amanda Kokoeva has told how in August 2008 she told on the U.S. TV channel Fox News, that Georgia had attacked South Ossetia.
"At the age of six, my parents and I moved to America, but every year we come to Tskhinval. And in August 2008, I also came to visit my relatives, when at night the sleeping town was attacked. I, like everyone, was hiding from the bullets and shells in the basement, and then I was taken out, "- she said.
After her arrival journalists of various U.S. media wanted to interview her.
"Everyone wanted to talk to me, but when I started to tell the truth that Tskhinval had been attacked by Georgian army, I was cut off from the live broadcast, and then no more any journalist called me" - she specified.
Amanda Kokoeva thanked the President and wished South Ossetia prosperity and peaceful sky.
