Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Russian Federation Dmitry Medoev took part in the inauguration of the III-rd Moscow Festival of Culture of the Peoples of the Caucasus, held October 28 in the concert hall "Izmailovo" under the auspices of the Russian Congress of Peoples of the Caucasus.
As the news agency "Res" has been informed at the press service of the Embassy of South Ossetia in the Russian Federation, in the festival were participated performers and dance groups from the North Caucasus and Transcaucasia.
In his speech Ambassador of South Ossetia welcomed the participants and guests and wished them success in their noble cause of strengthening friendship and promoting the image of the peoples of the Caucasus - the bearers of ancient, vibrant and unique culture.
The day before Medoev also took part in the festivities in honor of the anniversary of the great ballerina, People's Artist of the USSR Svetlana Adyrkhaeva. On the occasion of this event on the historic stage of the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia was a gala concert with the participation of artists of the Bolshoi Theater - pupils of the great ballerina, as well as Veronica Dzhioeva specially invited to this event and children's dance group from North Ossetia.
The gala concert in honor of Svetlana Adyrkhaeva opened the General Director of the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia Vladimir Urin and head of North Ossetia-Alania Taimuraz Mamsurov, who presented Svetlana Adyrkhaeva with an order "Glory to Ossetia."
