Georgy Tibilov, an employee of the Committee on Youth Policy, Sports and Tourism of South Ossetia, who oversees the tourism sector, and Inal Makoyev, lector of the South- Ossetian State University, represented South Ossetia at the VI International Forum of Public Diplomacy "Dialogue on the Volga: Peace and Understanding in the 21st Century" held in Volgograd.
According to the press service of the Youth Committee of the Republic, a delegation from South Ossetia participated in the Forum, exchanging contacts for further cooperation and establishing close ties with representatives of the tourism industry and public figures from different countries.
Among them, Dushan Stoyanovich, executive secretary general of the International Association of World Messenger Cities, from whom there was a proposal to represent the Republic of South Ossetia in the Association, with Tskhinval joining the "International Association of Peace Messenger Cities".
Meetings were also held with State Duma deputy Inga Yumasheva, head of the Pacific-Peace Against War movement, who also proposed joining this movement, with Yury Starovykh, President of the Volgograd Peace Foundation, an honorary citizen of the hero city of Volgograd and the city of Hiroshima, with the Lord Mayor Coventry City, Linda Bickham, with First Deputy Secretary General - Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Svetlana Smirnova and also with the project manager of the Department of Expertise and Monitoring of the Presidential Grants Fund Radmila Alimbekova.
The International Forum of Public Diplomacy “Dialogue on the Volga: Peace and Mutual Understanding in the 21st Century” is supported by Rossotrudnichestvo, with the participation of an expert from the United Kingdom on promoting the territory in the field of tourism and culture Carol Brown, representatives of the government, science, business, the public of the Russian Federation and its foreign countries partners. The date has traditionally been timed to coincide with the World Cities Day.
The sixth Forum was attended by delegates from forty countries of the world - Europe, Asia, Africa, America. Among the participants are mayors of twin cities, heads of major international associations and organizations, Russian and foreign representatives of government, science, the public, and the business community.
With the support of the Federal Agency of Rossotrudnichestvo, were attracted young people of the Federal program "New generation" from such countries as France, great Britain, Italy, Japan, Lebanon, Bulgaria, Hungary, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Armenia, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Azerbaijan.
