President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov received a delegation of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Abkhazia led by First Deputy Minister of Defense of Abkhazia Beslan Tsvizhba. According to the press service of the President, representatives of the defense department of Abkhazia arrived in Tskhinval to participate in celebrations dedicated to the Defender of the Fatherland Day.
The meeting was also attended by Minister of Defense of South Ossetia Ibrahim Gasseev and Ambassador Extraordinary of the Republic of Abkhazia to South Ossetia Alan Elbakiev.
The head of state thanked the guests for the active participation of the delegation of the Ministry of Defense of Abkhazia in the festivities held in South Ossetia, and wished them good health and strength of spirit.
Anatoly Bibilov paid special attention to fraternal relations and the inviolability of the values pledged between the two republics.
For his part, Beslan Tsvizhba thanked Anatoly Bibilov for the warm welcome, and also expressed the hope that the parade crew of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Abkhazia will take part in the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of South Ossetia.
“We came to the fraternal republic with great pleasure at the invitation of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of South Ossetia Ibrahim Gasseyev to take part in the festivities. I would like to thank you for the new steps and active participation in ensuring that the armed forces of Abkhazia and South Ossetia find common ground,” he said.
“It is nice that the values that have been established for a long time continue today.
The interaction and agreements signed between our republics should have the strength that will to some extent deter our common adversary from the stupid steps that were taken in the 1990s and 2008. The leadership of South Ossetia is ready to cooperate in all directions and take steps that contribute to the rapprochement of our peoples, our republics.
Today, we and you and the Russian Federation have worked out a whole range of issues on general defense and interaction between the power structures of the Russian Federation, the Republic of South Ossetia and the Republic of Abkhazia. This fraternity helps our nations live in peace and prosperity,” the President said.
