The operational headquarters of South Ossetia for countering coronavirus infection will develop conditions for quarantine at the hospital for those citizens of the Republic who are outside and want to come home. In particular, at a meeting of the staff on Friday, April 10, chief sanitary doctor Marina Kochieva proposed to organize hospital wards under quarantine with the provision of food, hygiene items and free Internet to all citizens who are going to come to South Ossetia from Russia.

We are talking about citizens who have only South Ossetian citizenship, and who for one reason or another could not come to the Republic before the authorities of the Republic announced the closure of the border.

Earlier, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic published the crossing schedules and the maximum number of citizens who can enter the territory of South Ossetia at a time.

Thus, from April 13 to May 1, 2020, a restriction is introduced on crossing the South Ossetian state border through the multilateral checkpoint Ruck. Citizens of the Republic can enter the territory of South Ossetia, having previously notified the Consular Agency of the Republic in North Ossetia. In turn, the diplomatic department will prepare lists, and groups of up to 10 people will be able to come home. All incoming passengers will undergo a medical examination at the border, after which the passengers will be transferred to mandatory isolation for 14 days in a medical facility.

To ensure a comfortable quarantine stay, the Coronavirus Counteraction Headquarters will provide the hospital with all conditions - free Internet, disposable tableware, personal hygiene items and food.

"The Republican and district hospitals should have the number one preparedness for accepting people for quarantine," head of the Headquarters Eric Pukhaev said at the meeting.

The decision of the headquarters is planned to be taken on Sunday, April 13.

The authorities of the Republic resort to such forced measures to maintain maximum discipline in society at the time of the continuing danger of the import of coronavirus into South Ossetia.
