A Chairman of the Parliament of South Ossetia Alan Tadtaev called similar fates of South Ossetia, the Donetsk and the Luhansk people's republics, commenting on the decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin to recognize the state sovereignty and independence of the Donbass republics.
"Probably, this event is perceived most strongly in South Ossetia, because the Republic has passed the same path of statehood formation that our fraternal peoples have passed.
That is why our Republic was the first to recognize the Donetsk and Lugansk republics. Yesterday we witnessed how the people of South Ossetia rejoiced at this significant event," the Speaker told reporters.
The Speaker has expressed confidence that thanks to the recognition by Russia and the development of relations with South Ossetia, the Donbass republics will reach a different, more qualitative level of their development.
“We will be sharing with them our experience of the already recognized state. And I am sure that only a good, bright future is awaiting us ahead,” the Speaker of the Parliament has emphasized.
It should be noted that last Monday evening, Russian President Vladimir Putin at the ceremony in the Kremlin signed a decree recognizing the independence of the Luhansk People's Republic and the Donetsk People's Republic. The ceremony was being broadcast from the Kremlin by the Rossiya-24 TV channel (VGTRK). The ceremony was attended by the heads of the LPR and the DPR. The head of the Russian state explained the historical and modern processes taking place around the neighboring country, and also said that NATO's actions had not left Russia no other opportunity to ensure its own security, except to recognize the independence of the Donetsk and the Lugansk People's Republics.
