The relatives of Inal Kortiev, perished during a special operation in Ukraine, from South Ossetia were awarded the Order of Courage. On behalf of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov handed over the award to the mother, wife and children of the serviceman.
"Inal Kortiev's life path was connected with the armed forces of the Russian Federation, and he fulfilled his military duty from beginning to end," Kulakhmetov said. – He was a hero, he was not afraid of anything, bravely faced death and died as a hero."
The Ambassador noted, "the memory of the heroes will forever remain in our hearts."
During the award ceremony, a decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin was read out.
The ceremony of awarding the Order to the relatives of the deceased was held at the Russian Embassy in South Ossetia on Thursday. Marat Kulakhmetov presented the award to the little daughter of the deceased hero.
A native of South Ossetia, Inal Kortiev, perished during a special operation in Ukraine in April this year. Inal was 37 years old. Two children were left without a father.
