In 2024, the South Ossetian Emergencies Ministry continued to work on strengthening and developing cooperation with the colleagues from Russia, Abkhazia, and contacts were also maintained with the Emergencies Ministry of the Republic of Belarus. This was noted by First Deputy Head of the Emergencies Ministry, Atsamaz Bestauty, at the extended meeting of the board to summarize the results of the year.

Ambassador of South Ossetia to Russia Znaur Gassiev was awarded the medal "For the Glory of Ossetia" for his services to the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania and many years of fruitful work, the Embassy press service reports.

The Head of the Republic of North Ossetia - Alania Sergey Menyailo presented the award to Znaur Gassiev and congratulated him from the bottom of his heart, wishing him further success for the good of the Fatherland.

Members of the South Ossetian Parliament supported the statement on the recognition of the genocide of the peoples of the Soviet Union by Nazi Germany and its accomplices during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

The question was raised at the session by the head of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-parliamentary relations Zaza Driaev.
