On Friday, during a telephone conversation between the Foreign Ministers of the two republics Akhsar Dzhioev and Vitaly Ignatiev were discussed the issues of development of the South Ossetian-Pridnestrovian relations, the press service of the Foreign Ministry of South Ossetia reports.
"The current agenda of bilateral cooperation was touched upon; the importance of further development of the South Ossetian-Pridnestrovian relations was emphasized. The parties expressed concern about the escalation of tension around the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and were unanimous in their opinion on the need to strictly observe the existing negotiation format and resolve the issues by peaceful means," the press service said.
The Foreign Ministry has added that it was noted the stabilizing role of the peacekeeping mission of the Russian Federation in the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian settlement," the message says.
"The South Ossetian party expressed support for the efforts of the leadership of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic aimed at maintaining peace and stability in the region," the press service has stressed.
