Issues related to the activities of the ICRC in South Ossetia were discussed with the South Ossetian party at the mission's headquarters in Geneva.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, the participants of the delegation of South Ossetia at the Geneva International Discussions met on Monday with Angelique Apperoux, the operational coordinator of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Europe and Central Asia, and Fabian Bourdieu, head of the Protection Department of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Europe and Central Asia.
“During the meeting in Geneva, issues of the ICRC's activities in the Republic of South Ossetia were discussed. One of the topics of discussion was the work to search for the missing persons within the framework of the Tripartite Coordination Mechanism. The South Ossetia party drew attention to the need to continue coordinating the draft Memorandum of Mutual Understanding between the Republic of South Ossetia and the ICRC in order to sign a bilateral document in the near future,” the press service said.
A number of other issues related to the work of the ICRC representative office in the Republic of South Ossetia were also discussed at the meeting.
