The State Security Committee of South Ossetia reminds residents of villages bordering Georgia on administrative and criminal liability for smuggling of tobacco and alcohol products.
According to the press service of the KGB, at the checkpoints "Pereu" and "Razdaekhaen" border guards regularly record the facts of local residents exceeding the norms established by the government of the Republic for moving tobacco products across the state border.
"These norms amount to 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 250 grams of tobacco in a set with a total weight of no more than 250 grams per person who has reached the age of 18," the message published on the official website of the Committee says.
The Committee has warned that if goods and vehicles were imported under the guise of goods and vehicles intended for personal use for the purpose of their use in commercial or other entrepreneurial activities, then such goods and vehicles are considered illegally moved across the border.
