The main objective of the visit of the Russian delegation to South Ossetia is to search for opportunities for the economic development of the Eepublic, said Dmitry Volvach, Deputy Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, summing up the inspection trip of President of the Republic of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev and the Russian delegation on the facilities under construction in the Republic.
“For two days, very close work has been going on with the leadership of the Republic, headed by President Alan Eduardovich. We are very carefully considering the possibilities for the economic development of the Republic of South Ossetia with the unconditional support of the Russian Federation, taking into account the programs that operate, taking into account the fact that we have launched a new investment cycle for 2022-2025.
Our task is to find new solutions that will allow us not only to receive subsidies from Russia, although this is and will be a serious support for ensuring the level of wages in the whole Republic and for state purposes," the press service of President of South Ossetia quotes Volvach.
According to the Deputy Minister, the main thing is to find growth points, when investments with budgetary support from Russia and South Ossetia allow the development of such enterprises as, for example, the High mountain Kel Brewery.
“Even in Soviet times, brewing was developed here. Most likely, this is due to the high quality of water, the high quality of technology.
Production was restored two years ago. Here is completely new equipment; a new high-quality product is obtained. The equipment is Russian, which means that investors and owners of the enterprise can count on support measures through the Investment Program. There should be more and more such examples in the Republic,” he said.
Dmitry Volvach has noted that he hopes for speedy launch of the facilities that, for some reason, are not yet functioning.
“We, together with our colleagues, have been launching the basalt plant for the second year. I hope we will start production and the apple orchards that we visited today, too. It can be seen that people were engaged professionally, but for some reason it did not work out. Our task is to find solutions: both administrative and economic, so that these apple trees begin to bear fruit, so that they turn into a real business. In order to be able to produce and exhibit this agricultural product both on the domestic market and for export,” he said.
Dmitry Volvach also added that, of course, the infrastructure facilities and are designed to increase the level of environmental friendliness are important.
“I would like the facilities for recycling and disposal of waste, purification of water in settlements, improvement of the quality of the road surface and lighting to be put into operation as quickly as possible.
We would very much like the Russians to recall these beautiful lands as a center of attraction for tourism. The potential is colossal; we need to think about investments, placements, and logistics. There is a target audience who will come to South Ossetia with pleasure to enjoy nature, air, local cuisine and history.
I am sure that with such a strong and professional team, which is now working in the Republic under the leadership of Alan Eduardovich, we will succeed,” he said.
