The Parliament carries out a vital mission by developing laws aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens, ensuring sustainable development and strengthening the sovereignty of South Ossetia. This is stated in the congratulation of President of the Republic of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev on the Day of the Formation of Parliament of the Republic.
The head of state has emphasized that December 9, 1990 has forever entered the history of the Republic as the day of the establishment of parliamentarism and national sovereignty.
“By holding the first elections to the Supreme Council, residents of South Ossetia took an important step towards the formation of the independent state. I would especially like to note the merits of the deputies of the first convocation, who, in the conditions of difficult historical realities, laid the foundations of statehood, adopted the most important regulatory and legal acts that provided the opportunity for further development of the Republic,” the congratulations reads.
Gagloev has noted that the deputies' decisions concern a wide range of areas - from economics and social policy to national security and international cooperation.
"The effectiveness of this work largely determines the future of our Republic.
I am confident that the people's representatives will continue to demonstrate high professionalism, commitment to the interests of the people and responsibility in decision-making," the leader of the Republic of South Ossetia has noted.
The President expressed gratitude to the deputies for their work, wisdom and dedication to serving the Fatherland and wished them good health, peace, prosperity and further success in legislative activity for the benefit of South Ossetia and its residents.
