An athlete from South Ossetia will take part in a tournament of martial arts

A native of South Ossetia Johnny Gazzaev will participate in the Fifth Open All-Russian Youth Games in martial arts. According to the athlete, the tournament will be held September, 9-19, 2012 in the city of Anapa.
"All-Russian Youth Games in Martial Arts – is the largest youth sports event in Russia. The strongest athletes from all cities and regions of the Russian Federation will take part in it", - said Gazzaev.

A boxer from Tskhinval will perform in the Russian Championship

South Ossetian fighter Atsamaz Dzigoev will take part in the championship of Russia in boxing among young people.
This has been reported to IA "Res" by a coach of the athlete Murat Kokoev.
"The tournament will start July 25 in Novosibirsk. It will bring together athletes of the age group from 19 to 22 years old. Dzigoev will perform in the weight class up to 60 kg, "- said Kokoev.

Comment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia in connection with the situation in Syria

An expanding crisis in Syria has caused a growing concern in South Ossetia. The reports, coming from this country, indicate the new armed incidents, bloody acts of terror in Damascus and numerous civilian casualties. Syria is going through difficult times, first of all, because of the so-called foreign well-wishers, who on the one hand, proclaim democracy, and on the other -arm the rebels, thus, clearly pushing the warring parties to further fierce and relentless confrontation. Therefore, the public of Tskhinval considers that this kind of initiative and external interference may be deliberately harmful.

Murat Dzhioev: Release of the citizens of Georgia is a gesture of good will

"The pardon and extradition of the three citizens of Georgia to the Georgian authorities is a gesture of good will on the part of the authorities of South Ossetia",- has been reported to IA "Res" by the RSO Presidential Envoy to post-conflict settlement, Murat Dzhioev. He clarified that the extradition of the citizens of Georgia had been carried out in accordance with the resolution of the Parliament of South Ossetia "On amnesty in connection with the election of a new President of the Republic of South Ossetia."
It should be reminded, that the extradition of the three citizens of Georgia has taken place today in the Georgian border village of Ergneti.

Three citizens of Georgia were pardoned in South Ossetia

South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov signed a charter of pardon of three Georgian citizens who were serving a sentence in the Tskhinval jail.
As reported to IA "Res" by the national law enforcement agency, the citizens of Georgia had been arrested earlier mainly due to violation of the state border of South Ossetia.

During the visit to South Ossetia co-chairmen of the Geneva discussions promised to help in defusing the situation in the village of Zardiantkari

Yesterday a meeting of the South Ossetian delegation at the Geneva talks on security with the co-chairs of the OSCE, EU and UN was held in Tskhinval. After the meeting they travelled to the village of Khelchua (Tskhinval district of South Ossetia), bordering on the village of Zardiantkari (Georgia), where June 29 the Georgian policemen had moved their post closer to the South Ossetian border.
As reported to IA "Res" by Presidential Envoy to post-conflict settlement, Murat Dzhioev, in Khelchua was held a meeting of co-chairs with the locals, who had been forced to leave their homes due to the placing of the Georgian police post.
