The security and development of the Republic were discussed in South Ossetia
"Security and development - the guarantee of a bright future for South Ossetia" was the topic of discussion at the round table in the Media - center "Ir" in Tskhinval.
The discussion was attended by members of Parliament, members of political parties and public figures.
At the beginning of the event was the expert of the Media center - Yury Vazagov has noted that there are a number of factors that could seriously complicate the situation in Transcaucasia.
"South Ossetia, Abkhazia and the Russian Federation are creating a new forestalling security system, since there is a tendency to destabilize the situation in the former Soviet Union - said Vazagov.
According to the Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov, the events in Ukraine may lead to a head all the other conflicts in the post-Soviet space. Today we can see the similar in the Nagorno-Karabakh, where it is hard to restrain the resumption of large-scale hostilities."
In particular, the expert focused on the attempts of the international organizations to participate in the events taking place within the region.
"It is enough attention paid to this issue by international organizations, there are attempts to more serious intervention in the events around South Ossetia and Abkhazia by the Parliamentary Assembly and OSCE, which again want to mark their presence in the region," - said Vazagov.
He also urged to take into account the factor of an Islamic state in the Caucasus, where "whilst there is the recruitment of mercenaries and the preparation of certain groups in the immediate vicinity of South Ossetia - Pankisi Gorge."
The expert has stressed that it is expected a lot of challenges and threats in the future and in South Ossetia special attention should be given to defense.
"One of the main emphases in the development of the Treaty of Alliance and integration between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation was put on the military component of closer coordination, but, nevertheless, I want to focus on an issue that raised repeatedly by South Ossetian experts to create a system of reservists, "- said Vazagov.
The need to organize a mobile army of the Republic also expressed a Member of Parliament Amiran Dyakonov, noting the need to develop a legislative framework for reservists.
"In August 7 – 10, 2008, during the attack on South Ossetia by Georgia, our militias, virtually without any armor, restrained the Georgian troops trained by NATO instructors," – said Dyakonov.
According to the deputy, in order to enhance defense capability, we need a mobile capable army that could solve its tasks.
During the round table were also discussed security system, and the majority supported the idea of organizing a mobile army.
