South Ossetia will take part in one of the key events of the global food industry – the International Exhibition Prodexpo-2025.

As noted by the Republic’s trade representative in the Russian Federation Taimuraz Goginov in a commentary to IA “Res”, Prodexpo is not just the opportunity to present its products on a large market, but also a chance to attract investments, strengthen economic ties and talk about the Republic’s potential.

The first meeting this year in the format of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanisms (IPRM) on the border of South Ossetia and Georgia will be held on February 14. This was reported to IA “Res” by the head of the South Ossetian delegation to the IPRM, Yegor Kochiev.

Tbilisi continues to take actions that contribute to the complication of the situation on the state border of South Ossetia, refuses to carry out explanatory work among the local population and instead of preventing incidents on the border, incites its citizens to commit more crimes in the border area. Plans for joint work with South Ossetia and Abkhazia for 2025 were discussed at the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Foreign Ministry, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reported.

"A meeting was held between Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev and Plenipotentiary representative of the Republic of Abkhazia in Pridnestrovie Alexander Vataman, as well as the head of the official representative office of South Ossetia in the Republic Vitaly Yankovsky.

A cache of ammunition was found in the village of Ir in Tskhinval district, the press service of the South Ossetian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported on Wednesday.

As noted by the department, the sappers seized 225 7.62 caliber cartridges from the discovered cache.

The ammunition will be destroyed in accordance with the established procedure, the Ministry of Emergency Situations has concluded.

A solo concert of the State Song and Dance Group "Simd" will take place on March 7 in St. Petersburg, the press service of Ministry of Culture of South Ossetia reports.

The event will be organized on the stage of the Mariinsky Theater.

"The creative team intends to dedicate its performance to the 80th anniversary of the Victory and, in particular, to the heroic residents of Leningrad, all those who died and survived in the fight against fascism," the press service has noted.

The authorities of South Ossetia handed over two citizens, who had violated the state border of the Republic, to Georgia. This was reported by the State Security Committee of the Republic of South Ossetia.

The referendum on the independence of the Republic of South Ossetia and reunification with Russia was the important political and legal step in the formation of the statehood of the Republic of South Ossetia. Orthodox believers in South Ossetia have celebrated one of the main Christian holidays - the Epiphany. From early morning, residents of the Republic filled the churches to take part in the festive liturgies and collecting holy water.

After the service, representatives of the Alanian diocese and numerous believers made a a cross procession from the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary to the Liakhva River. The Rite of the Great Blessing of Water was performed here. After the ceremony, everyone was able to take part in the Epiphany bathing.

The South Ossetian Migration Department reported on the work done in 2024.

The event was attended by Minister of Internal Affairs Alan Guchmazov and his Deputy Gennady Laliev, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

“Over the year, 341 foreign citizens were registered and recorded in the department. The department’s inspectors conducted 74 raids, checked 555 households at pre-determined addresses of temporary residence of foreign citizens and revealed 93 violations of the Republic’s migration legislation,” the press service has noted.
