The Republic of South Ossetia since the early 90s stands for peaceful relations with neighboring Georgia, for fair settlement of the issues of refugees and internally displaced persons in the Georgian-Ossetian conflict in compliance with relevant international norms.
To this end, South Ossetia has always supported constructive proposals and mediation efforts of the international community and individual countries. The Republic of South Ossetia is a recognized state and its territory should not be considered as part of Georgia, as it is presented in the Resolution. Thus, upon the Georgian presentation, more than 100 thousand Ossetians expelled from Georgia because of their ethnicity, who found refuge in the Russian Federation and the Republic of South Ossetia, were left outside the document notions.
