The President of the Republic of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity held a conference with the chiefs of Ministries, Departments, Republic power structures and the Heads of regional and Tskhinval administrations.
In connection with evacuation of children to North Ossetia, the President mentioned at the conference that «this is a forced measure and there are no any preconditions for panic. We are not going to give up our positions or to make any aggressive actions but we intend to protect our citizens, provide their security and in case of emergency protect our Republic».
«If Georgian Government not be wise and in near future not withdraw its detachments from the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia, including occupied territories we will take measures. We have to put an end to this matter; it is time to stop to torture our people and to live in uncertainty»-stated the President.
Concerning the perspectives of negotiating process Eduard Kokoity said that «it is necessary to hold the talks and we are going to conduct them within the framework of existing format. There are international agreements, there is a mandate according to which we are going to act».
«South Ossetia must bring its stand to international community. We are not intended to aggravation of situation and open confrontation with Georgia. We want to save peace by means of talks, but if we have no any other choice, we will undertake most resolute measures to solve this problem once and for all»-noted the Head of State.
The President thanked the Minister of Defense of RSO Vasily Lunev, RSO Internal Minister Mikhail Mindzaev, RSO KGB Chairman Boris Attoev as well as the personnel of their departments for professional and efficient actions.
A special gratitude Eduard Kokoity expressed to the Head of Republic of North Ossetia-Alania Taimuraz Mamsurov and the President of Kabarda-Balkar Republic Arsen Kanokov.
During the conference there have been discussed the issue of Tskhinval water supply, the questions of social and economic sphere and the questions of reconstruction of electric power supply to the villages of Tskhinval region after the shelling of Ossetian settlements on 1 and 2 August. Pertaining to this question the Director of Republican State Union «Energetica» Khasan Pliev noted that «in the direction of Dmenis village all the damages are eliminated and till the evening the electric power supply to Tskhinval region will be rehabilitated».
